We help inmates to appreciate traditional and communal dining culture in Taiwan. In this class, we expect the inmates to learn how to cook the traditional foods little known to the public. Thus the cooking could be continued steadily. We open ‘Hakka Traditional Cuisine Class’ in the prison. The cooking skills feature Hakka foods. We help develop inmates’ skill. They will learn Hakka cooking. After leaving prison, they would be able to find a job or open a Hakka restaurant on their own in society.

Expected achievement:
The inmates will learn about the culture of Hakka food. In class, they will learn how to appreciate the visual arts of Hakka food and its cooking skills. Having more understanding and taste, they will be more motivated to learn the relevant cooking skills. The inmates would understand Hakka’s traditional food in a deeper way. At the same time, they will also learn to know the innovative value of communal ways of cooking.
